TaxDome: Streamlined Management for Tax Professionals

TaxDome is an all-in-one software solution designed to help tax professionals manage their firm’s workflow efficiently. It offers client communication, document management, billing, and a variety of other tools that streamline daily operations. By integrating TaxDome with IdentityCheck, tax professionals can further enhance security and streamline the ID verification process for clients.

Uses for IdentityCheck in TaxDome

Integrating IdentityCheck with TaxDome allows tax professionals to verify client identities quickly and securely. Here are some use cases:

  • Client onboarding: Verify new clients electronically, making the onboarding process seamless and secure.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all clients meet regulatory ID verification requirements.
  • Fraud prevention: Reduce the risk of fraudulent activities by verifying identities before processing sensitive documents or transactions.

Why Integrate IdentityCheck with TaxDome?

TaxDome is a powerful client management platform for tax professionals, while IdentityCheck ensures secure and efficient ID verification. By integrating these services through Zapier, you can:

  • Automate the verification process based on specific triggers.
  • Update TaxDome contacts with verification status.
  • Reduce manual effort and errors in client record management.

How to Set Up IdentityCheck with TaxDome via Zapier

To integrate IdentityCheck with TaxDome using Zapier, follow these steps:

  1. Sign up for a Zapier account if you don’t already have one.
  2. Log in to your Zapier account and navigate to the TaxDome integrations page.
  3. Click on “Connect a New Account” and authorize Zapier to connect to both your TaxDome and IdentityCheck accounts.
  4. Create a new Zap by clicking “Make a Zap” on your Zapier dashboard.

How to Use ID Verification in TaxDome

1. Set Up the Trigger (Read Data from TaxDome)

The Zap starts by reading a contact’s details from TaxDome. This ensures the most up-to-date information is used for verification.

  • Trigger: Update Contact action in the TaxDome CLI API.
  • Data Pulled: Notes, email, name, and other relevant details.

2. Process Notes to Identify ID Check Requests

A JavaScript code block runs to determine if an ID verification is required:

  • The script checks if the notes contain “ID Check.”
  • If present, it replaces “ID Check” with a placeholder (), so the note is cleaned up.
  • The script returns a trigger flag, indicating if the process should continue.

3. Apply a Filter to Proceed Only if ID Verification is Needed

  • A filter checks if the trigger flag is set to true.
  • If false, the Zap stops; otherwise, it moves to the next step.

4. Create a Direct Verification Request with IdentityCheck

If verification is required, the Zap:

  • Sends a request to IdentityCheck.
  • Includes first name, last name, and email for verification.
  • Enables email notifications for the verification process.

5. Update Contact Details in TaxDome

Once the ID verification is complete:

  • The TaxDome contact is updated with a new tag (ID Verified).
  • Notes are updated with the cleaned-up version.
  • Additional contact details such as city, phone number, and address are maintained.

Key Benefits of This Automation

  • Efficiency: Automates ID verification without manual intervention.
  • Accuracy: Ensures updated and verified contact records in TaxDome.
  • Security: Maintains compliance with ID verification requirements.

By integrating IdentityCheck with TaxDome, tax professionals can stay compliant with regulatory requirements and protect their firm from potential fraud, all while providing a seamless client onboarding experience.
