A defensible risk rating, and the decision, recorded.

A defensible risk rating (High, Medium or Low) and the decision, recorded against the client.

Where Assess fits

All our workflows work independently and together, so you can implement one standalone or run them as a set. Every workflow comes integrated with your existing software. Explore each one in more detail.

What it does

How Assess runs

Once the ID check and screening are back, your team completes a risk assessment that produces a defensible High, Medium or Low rating. The decision is recorded against the client with its reasoning kept for audit, and the rating, who rated it and when write back to your practice software.

Defensible, on the record
How it runs

Assess, step by step

01

The result comes in

  • Sent once the client completes their ID check
  • Pre-populated with the ID and AML results
02

The assessor opens it

  • Your admins receive it by default
  • With a staff PIN set, completed without logging in
03

Answer the questionnaire

  • Services provided and delivery model
  • Complexity and expected transaction types
  • Monitoring frequency
  • Next to the client's verified details and AML results
04

Rate and record

  • Low, Medium or High, picked or scored
  • A person always reviews the result
  • The decision, assessor and date saved for audit
05

Higher risk goes further

  • Medium and High risk clients can be taken through enhanced due diligence forms

It runs inside the practice software your team already uses and writes the result back where they already look. See the integrations →

In detail

What the assessment records

A questionnaire to your policy

Delivered as a template. Edit the questions and default answers to match your AML/CTF program.

Growth and above
Manual or calculated

The assessor picks the rating, or the answers are scored against your thresholds. A manual override is allowed and recorded.

Calculated on Growth and above
PIN-only access

Set a staff PIN and assessments can be opened and completed without logging in to IdentityCheck.

Growth and above
Next to the evidence

The verified name, date of birth, document and AML results sit on the same screen as the questions.

A fixed audit trail

Each step is saved with a snapshot of the form. Once decided, the assessment is read-only.

Written back

The risk rating, the completed date, who completed it and a link to the assessment write back on two-way integrations such as XPM, HubSpot and FYI.

Enhanced due diligence

EDD forms linked to Medium or High risk, so higher-risk clients get the closer look the rules expect.

Questions

Common questions about Assess

Can we set default answers to the risk assessment questionnaire?

The questionnaire is delivered as a template. It can be edited, including default answers, on Growth plans and above.

What is the difference between manual and calculated ratings?

With a manual rating the assessor picks Low, Medium or High. With a calculated rating the answers are scored against your thresholds, on Growth plans and above. Either way the decision is recorded.

Does the rating reach my practice software?

Yes. The risk rating, who completed it and the date flow back on two-way integrations. See the integrations.

What about clients onboarded before the rules commenced?

In general, you only need to assess pre-commencement clients if there has been a significant change, or you are providing new designated services. Refer to the AUSTRAC regulations or a lawyer for legal advice.

Does IdentityCheck make my firm compliant?

It runs the checks and keeps the record. Your AML/CTF program, compliance officer, AUSTRAC enrolment and reporting stay with your firm. Read the Tranche 2 guide.
