E-signature integrations

A signature proves someone signed. It does not prove who they are.

25 systems and tools 8 tools in a workflow

Signing sits right next to identity collection at the front of the client lifecycle, which is why the two are so often confused. A firm that has just verified a client should not then chase a signature through a separate email thread — the engagement letter and the compliance record belong to the same moment.

StackGo runs the identity and AML work; your signing tool does what it is good at. The result is one file with both, instead of two systems and a gap between them.

Choosing

What to look for in a signing tool if you are regulated

Be clear about what it is not. An e-signature is evidence of assent, not evidence of identity. Treating a signed engagement letter as a KYC control is a common and expensive misunderstanding.

Data residency. For AU firms with residency obligations, where the signed document is stored matters as much as how it was signed. Australian-hosted signing exists and is worth choosing deliberately.

Audit trail depth. Timestamp, IP, and a tamper-evident record are the minimum. If a signature cannot be defended later it is decoration.

Retention. Your compliance file has a seven-year life. Make sure your signing provider’s retention policy is at least as long, or you will be reconstructing evidence you thought you had.
